CSE (Cyber Security)

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering-Cyber Security has been established in the year 2022 with an intake of 60. The dynamic and ever-expanding nature of cyber threats necessitates the establishment of a dedicated cyber security specialization to protect organizations, governments, and individuals from the growing risks associated with the digital world.

 HOD'S DESK

It is responsible for continuously monitoring and detecting potential cyber threats, initiating incident response measures in case of security breaches, and conducting vulnerability assessments to address weaknesses.The department engaged in design and implements secure architectures, enforce data protection and encryption, and educate about cyber security best practices. Additionally, it ensures compliance with cyber security regulations, collaborates with external entities for threat intelligence sharing, and maintains various roles such as security analysts, threat intelligence analysts, network security engineers, and compliance specialists. Overall, the cyber security department plays a critical role in protecting the organization from cyber-attacks and ensuring a secure and resilient digital environment.

The curriculum and syllabus are designed by experts from Industry and Academia. The department specific Centre of Excellence with Industry collaboration offers students and faculty to do their research activities in their domain. The faculty are trained and certified by Industries to make them competent. The program is intended to make the students Industry-ready as skilled security professionals in the public and private sector. The department endeavours to produce world class cyber security professionals tuned to the real time working.

 To empower students to be ethical cyber security professionals, entrepreneurs and pioneers in safeguarding the digital world.

MISSION

DM1 :Provide comprehensive and Industry-relevant critical thinking skills to tackle emerging cyber security challenges with highest standard of cyber security education.

DM2 : Enhance industry-academia collaboration, facilitate knowledge transfer with cyber security best practices through state-of-art laboratory.

DM3: Foster a culture of research and innovation in cyber security cutting-edge technologies, develop novel solutions and contribute to the advancement of cyber security knowledge. 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO1: Core Competency: Graduates will acquire Cyber Security domain specific knowledge by providing solid foundation in Mathematical, Science and Engineering fundamentals.

PEO2: Professionalism: Graduates will work competently to address real world issues with interpersonal skills and ethical values in multidisciplinary environment.

PEO3: Higher studies and Entrepreneurship: Graduates will explore competency in the higher education and research and to become the State-of-the-art technocrat.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs) 

PO1: Engineering knowledge: Ability to apply the knowledge of mathematics, physical sciences and computer science and engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem analysis: Ability to identify, formulate and analyze complex real life problems in order to provide meaningful solutions by applying knowledge acquired in computer science and engineering.

PO3: Design/development of solutions: Ability to design cost effective software / hardware solutions to meet desired needs of customers/clients.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions in the field of computer science and engineering.

PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern computer science and engineering tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PSO1 : Cyber Solution Development : Work as security engineer with cutting –edge technologies  to anticipate future cyber threats and develop methods to counter them 

PSO2: Secure IoT Programming Skill : Ability to secure IoT devices with vulnerability assessment and Penetration testing.
